I love photographing the same families year after year. It’s like we grow up together….my business matures and so do my clients’ kids. And when they move from Manhattan or Brooklyn to the suburbs - I hope that our relationship continues on. Luckily that is what happened with this awesome family. I have photographed them for almost 10 years. So when they moved from Brooklyn to a charming NJ suburb - they did not hesitate to call me for their next family portrait session. Congratulations to this amazing, smart, sweet and accomplished young woman who graduates college today. Not only is she graduating early but she played fantastic D1 basketball all throughout college. She's awesome. Her mom and her whole community is so proud of her. And it was such a pleasure to photograph her graduating senior portraits this Spring.
It’s so nice to connect with a family and grow along with them. I have been photographing these two precious boys since they were born. Every year, our photography session captures their newest stage in their childhood. Years from now, their parents will have so many beautiful visual memories of these special time in their lives.
When a family decides to move from their beloved Brooklyn home to another city, its so special when they decide to say good-bye by having a farewell family photography session. That’s what this gorgeous family did recently right before they headed west. When you leave…you realize that NYC never leaves you. Its a city that touches your heart deeply. Once a New Yorker always a New Yorker.
I first photographed this family when the mom was pregnant with her second child. Years later, this loving couple has two growing, happy, talkative boys that adore each other and are surrounded by so much love. With my photography services, we have created visual memories that they enjoy every day in their home with large framed portraits hanging on their walls. This warms my heart.
When you are a single parent, you are rarely photographed with your children. You are absent from your family and children’s own visual history. When you are a family photographer, its wonderful to grow alongside your clients. When I first started to photograph this family, the youngest son was a newborn. Dumbo is filled with cobblestone streets and converted Brooklyn warehouse buildings. It is the backdrop for independent boutiques, high-end restaurants and trendy cafes as well as being the heart of a thriving performance and gallery scene. The north end of Brooklyn Bridge Park features historic Jane’s Carousel as well as picturesque views of the Manhattan skyline. Amongst all of that….there are families who are raising children here in a very unique way. Like this wonderful family who walks past these great NYC vistas every day on the way to their local playground. They work, they play but they always call Dumbo home. What a way to live!
