Sometimes the best family photo sessions are right outside your apartment door, on your stoop and down your city block.
Nothing like female energy especially between a mother and her daughters. They are truly beautiful inside and out.

It was a wonderful "back to school" experience across NYC on the very first day of school....especially for a wonderful group of Brooklyn school kids I photographed. The kids were gathered in the auditorium and awaited the BIG surprise. To their delight, The Kids In Need Foundation distributed backpacks and school supplies to every child at school. The excitement and smiles were contagious and I was so happy to be apart of it.
The Kids In Need Foundation’s mission is to ensure that every child is prepared to learn and succeed in the classroom by providing free school supplies nationally to students most in need. Studies show that when kids have school supplies of their own, classroom behavior and grades improve, self-esteem strengthens, and kids develop better attitudes toward school and learning.

When this girl's mom hired me....all she wanted me to do was to capture her daughter's special-ness. She regrets not getting more professional photographs of her daughter when she was born now that her little girl is 2 1/2 years old. She's growing like a weed and is now making up for lost time. Mom wanted to use this session to shine a light on to her amazing daughter's sweetness and to see how her personality is captured on film. This mother and daughter team are truly inseparable and she wanted to capture this specific time to remember always.
As first time parents, this couple is a true partnership...learning on the job - the most important job of their lives. These portraits capture the very moment of this special time and will bring back memories of the very moment where their sweet daughter's personality is really starting to shine through at 16 months old. Precious times indeed.
Dumbo and Brooklyn Bridge Park always makes for a fantastic backdrop for a fabulous family photography session. This awesome family didn't disappoint. The kids acted like kids. The parents held them close and made them smile with love. And everyone had belly laughs...especially me. There's nothing better than kids to show adults what an authentic moment is and what life is truly all about.
I've been friends with this fun and funny family for 4 years now....once they moved in the apartment down the hall from me. We have done so many things together...playdates, sledding, dinners and even an ongoing bookclub. But this time together was the first time I captured them for an official family photography. The results speak for themselves. Red Hook...we love you!
Cobble Hill Park is one of those quintessential Brooklyn neighborhood parks. Its a park that the community adores....not only is it picturesque but it is also a place where young toddlers can play in the sandbox, ride on the dolphin statue or have an adventure going down the slide. Its a destination where adults go to have a pleasant outdoor lunch, leisurely read a book on a park bench or relax on a picnic blanket on the green grass. For this family, Cobble Hill Park acted as a perfect backdrop where together we captured the love and connection of their family. I can't wait to do it again with this loving 4-some.
The best photography locations come in small and large sizes. This sweet family session took place in a Brooklyn neighborhood community garden in the Columbia Street Waterfront neighborhood. The garden flowers and this family's love were beautifully blossoming....perfect for a Spring Family Photo Session.
This past Saturday night, a fundraiser was held that raised over $45,000 for The Trevor Project - the leading national organization providing crisis intervention and suicide prevention services to LGBTQ + youth. An amazing group of proactive Brooklyn women organized this fundraiser as one of many efforts that have been a direct response to the November election. We learned that since the election, there has been a significant increase in suicide thoughts and attempts with LGBTQ teens. The Trevor Project fiercely helps protect and save lives. Thank you all who came and donated in person and from afar. It was an honor to photograph this fantastic #drinkdancedogood event for The Trevor Project!
